Gwalior Fort is in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the biggest forts in India and had enormous influence on the history of India. The fort has two important parts namely, the main fort and the Palaces (Gurjari Mahal and the Man Mandir palace). The Palaces were built by Raja Man Singh Tomar. The Gurjari Mahal was built for his favourite queen, Mrignayani.
Beautifully constructed with stand stone, the fort spreads over an area of 3 square kilometres (1.2 sq mi). The fort is 35 feet (11 m) in height. Fort is beautifully ornate by the styled tiles in turquoise, green, yellow, which has been laid in geometric patterns to give a painting effect.
Apart from styled tiling .. each and ever wall, corner , inch of the sand stone fort is intricately carved and designed. Its a perfect balance of carving and tiled art work.
